Mills' sales performance and growth was impressive last year, and our installed customer base surpassed the 4,000 mark.

Sales of Doosan machines in the economic upturn were at an all time high... and we delivered in excess of 443 machines to customers in the UK and Ireland in 2011.

Such a positive sales performance is nothing new to Mills, and has been helped this year by a number of factors:

  •  The introduction of a number of new, high-performance Doosan machine tools into the market
    • - the new VC 630/5AX (5-axis machining centre)
    • - the new range of 8", 10" and 12" Puma lathes (the Puma 2100, Puma 2600 and Puma 3100 machines)
    • - the new Lynx 300-series (small lathes)
    • - the new DNM vertical machining centres with Heidenhain Controls
  •  The continued investment in Mills' after-sales and support services
    • - the further development of The CNC Training Academy
    • - the recruitment of additional regionally-based Service Engineers (now 28 in total)
    • - the strengthening of our Applications Team
    • - the significant investment made in improving our Wear and Replacement Parts operation
    • - the flexible machine tool finance packages created by Mills CNC Finance
  •  The priority given to our marketing activities
    • - the development of our new website, and our improved Search Engine Optimisation
    • - our continued, high-profile presence in all major Trade & Technical publications, and on-line media
