Summer Holiday period sees no slowdown in demand for Doosan CNC machine tools

Mills CNC announces 'best ever' sales figures for July.

Mills CNC, the exclusive distributor of Doosan machine tools in the UK and Ireland, has reported that sales in July 2010 topped £3.3M - equating to 33 machine tools being sold in the month.

The July figures says Nick Frampton, Mills CNC's managing director, 'represent the best ever July sales results in Mills' history', and follow hard on the heels of a successful June 2010 where 21 machines were sold.

Continues Nick Frampton:

'These really are excellent results, and reflect the confidence and more positive outlook many UK manufacturers are feeling and experiencing at this moment in time.

'In what can be a traditionally quieter period for machine tool sales, I believe our July figures can also be attributed to the recent MACH 2010 Exhibition in early June where we exhibited 13 Doosan machine tools from our biggest-ever stand, and where well over 100 serious sales enquiries and leads were generated.'

Following up these leads has been the primary focus for Mills once the exhibition ended...and this has paid obvious dividends.

A cursory look at the machines sold by Mills in July demonstrate the popularity of, and high demand for, Doosan machine tool technology - with everything from 2-axis Lynx and Puma lathes, vertical machining centres (with both Fanuc and Heidenhain Controls), and multi-axis mill-turn machines being well represented in the sales figures.

Particularly pleasing was the sales performance of the new range of Doosan Puma lathes which were launched into the UK at MACH.

Says Nick Frampton:

'We sold 5 of the new Puma lathes in July...and the interest generated by the Puma 2100, Puma 2600 and Puma 3100 models we exhibited at MACH has been excellent.'

Mills' June and July sales figures show that the Company has significantly improved its performance over the last 12 months. To date (this Year), Mills has taken orders for over 170 machines compared to 130 in 2009...and to cope with this demand, has increased its machine tool orders with Doosan by more than 40% compared to last year.

Concludes Nick Frampton:

'The next quarter for Mills is important. We have launched a number of new models and have a number of new initiatives in the pipeline that I'm confident will offer customers even better value for money and strengthen our market position still further.'
