Mills CNC intended to showcase 18 Doosan machine tools as well as a range of advanced automation solutions on its stand at MACH 2020. A number of these machines and solutions were new, and were making their UK debuts at the event.
Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent government guidelines prohibiting large gatherings and the enforcement of social distancing, the event was postponed until January 2021.
To help us promote our new technologies now, in lieu of a 2020 MACH event, a competition has been organised inviting young people to submit a painting or drawing of a selected machine tool or automation solution that we planned to exhibit at the Show.
There are 5 ‘subjects’ that we are inviting young people to paint or draw.
- A Doosan DEM 4000 vertical machining centre
- A group shot of the two new Doosan DVF 5-axis machines
- A Mills CNC SYNERGi 25 automated manufacturing cell
- A blue Doosan collaborative robot
- A white Doosan collaborative robot with gripper end effectors
Paintings or drawings?
Young people can choose the medium they prefer i.e. watercolours, oils, pastels, pencils, crayons etc., and be as imaginative as they want to be in their artwork.
Submissions should be no smaller than A4 in size, and no larger than A3.
To pay tribute to the thousands of NHS staff, care workers and other essential workers – all paintings and drawings should include/feature a Rainbow.
Completed artwork should also include the young person’s name (added bottom left or right) and their age.
The submission should be photographed and be sent as a JPEG attachment with the completed competition entry form. The entry form must be completed and sent by the parent or guardian of the entrant.
